"This will greatly benefit the millions of NJ Transit, Port Authority Trans-Hudson (PATH) and NY Waterway customers who rely on this vital, intermodal transportation hub every year," said NJ Transit President and CEO Kevin Corbett. The project had stalled for 15 years, but was jump-started through collaboration between LCOR, NJ Transit, the city and the state, NJ Transit officials said in a press release. Hoboken city officials last week approved a redevelopment agreement for the project with LCOR Hoboken Rail Station Redevelopment. New Jersey Transit is moving to the next phase of the Hoboken Connect project, which calls for significant developments and improvements to the historic Hoboken train station.
